What does a locksmith cost?

The starting price is €140 excluding VAT. It covers the call-out and the beginning of the work. What you are finally charged depends on three things: the work actually carried out, the materials needed, and when the intervention takes place.

Evening, night, weekend and public holiday surcharges apply. A call-out at three in the morning therefore costs more than the same call-out on a Tuesday morning. Ask for the amount that applies to your situation before you agree to it — on the phone, not once someone is at your door.

Replacing a cylinder and simply opening a door are two different jobs with different material requirements. If you know the brand of the lock or the length of the cylinder, say so: it makes the answer you get on the phone more accurate.
